Happy Valentine's Day

I've been having some really weird dreams. Sometimes I post them here for fun but I'll skip all that this time. As John Lennon once said, "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." How's that for loosely celebrating the Beatles 50th anniversary of the Ed Sullivan Show?

I recently saw some pictures of people giving birth in their homes and in a pool.  wtf?
Aside from how unnecessary the whole thing is, who cleans up that water?  That is some seriously nasty water.  Some pics had the husband and other children sitting in the pool.  everyone naked.  absolutely horrified me.  pretty sure these are the type of people who are against vaccines and modern medicine.

fear and flowers

two nights ago i thought i had finally done it.  i woke up and realized i couldnt move my hand.  it seemed like i totally paralyzed it by sleeping on it.  anyway its always been a fear that sits around in the back of my head because when i sleep i really go into deep sleep. im not sure if we are programmed to wake up or change positions to save an appendage.  but just as you guessed, this story has a happy ending.  after trying to move my hand, pinching it, and rubbing it, the feeling started coming back and eventually movement too.  also i had 10 minutes of ridiculous pins and needles. 

also ive realized i really like orchids.  not sure how to keep them alive (they always seems to die in 2 months or so) but they have awesome flowers.  i may have to turn in my man card for this confession but damn, they are nice.

i agree with everything he says.  just wish i could do it all too.

and its off to morocco this year.  looks like we will be heading very close to our last overseas trip in spain.  brazil was the other option but we will wait until the soccer world cup to head down, iA. 

Stairways

I had an interesting thought today while using the stairs in my parents home to go down to the basement.   Who invented them?  How did they come up with the idea?  Stairs are up there with the wheel in terms of simple inventions that are damn awesome.  I imagined if I were going to build something to go up or down I'd make a ramp.  And to save space I'd make a steep ramp.  My ramp would be dangerous.  But because of how dangerous it would be people would sit down and go down the ramp which would cause them to slide.  And to make it more efficient I'd use polished wood and it would be fun.  Except when you have to go up but for that I added a rope to the side of the ramp that you can use for support.  I think this design would also be better for moving heavy furniture.
